Camping FAQ

Hopefully you should be able to find your repair below or something very close to it.
Please remember also to check out the DEMO VIDEOS HERE.

Q. Do you have a product that can repair a small hole in a hot water bottle? I'm aware you have many products that provide a water tight seal but I'm worried that extremely hot water may compromise the fix. Obviously I don't want to take any chances with this!

A. Our Stormsure Flexible Repair Adhesive works fine up to 80 degrees Celsius. People use it for repairing hot tubs. It should be ok but it is something that we have not tested.

Q. I need to repair a PVC cooler bag. I am considering using the Stormsure clear adhesive. Once cured is the adhesive safe for use where the product will come into contact with food stuffs and or for use in the storage of potable water.

A. Simple answer is yes for both. Stormsure adhesive is a polyurethane adhesive, meaning it cures with moisture, not solvents, and when it cures, it has rubbery like qualities. It will be completely waterproof.

Please allow the glue to cure the full amount of 10-12 hours and then it will be fine. It works well in heat up to 80 degrees Celsius and also freezing temperatures down to minus 40 so the glue will be fine for most situations.

Q. I have a very small puncture on the centre crease in my inflatable sleeping mat. Please can you advise which of your products would be most appropriate to repair this.

A. Because it is on a crease I would not suggest a patch of any kind. It will probably come off after a short while with the stress it will be under.

So, I would suggest Stormsure Flexible Repair Adhesive. If it is only small then our smaller tubes would be best.Simply apply the glue into, over and around the area that is damaged. Approx, 5mm around the area of the damaged crease. Leave to cure for the full 10-12 hours. The adhesive will fill any little holes in the crease and also seep into the material a little giving extra strength. The adhesive is 100% waterproof and durable. Easily strong enough for the mat.

Q.  Hi, I'm looking into an air bed repair - the thing is, it's the valve, the whole thing has fallen in, and can yet be extricated up to the point where it fills the hole back up, but does not inflate when the pump is clamped on due to insufficient seal, so I'm enquiring after the possibility that is repairable, say, if held in that position while a repair glue sets...? Please advise

A. A common repair for lots of inflatables. Stormsure Flexible Repair Adhesive will do the trick here. It is polyurethane adhesive, which means it has rubbery like qualities when it cures. It is durable, flexible and extremely strong. Simply hold the valve in place and then apply the adhesive into the gaps and around the valve. The glue will be touch dry in a couple of hours but please leave to cure for the full 10-12 hours. Then you should be good to go.
